Train travel and public transport

Münster’s central station is located right next to the city centre. Münster is linked with Germany's and Europe's large cities via its IC, EC, and ICE connections. The train ride from Hamburg or Cologne to Münster takes 2 hours, from Berlin it's approx. 3.5 hours, while Enschede (Netherlands) is a solid 1 hour away. More information on schedule and tickets can be found here:

To get from Münster central station to the conference venue bus routes 6 and 8 can be used. It will take only 9 minutes.

The "Stadtwerke Münster" and their partners provide transport for 120,000 passengers on a daily basis. About 20 city bus routes link the various districts with the inner city, while taxi bus and night buses supplement these services around the clock. Destinations within the Münsterland region are also easily accessible by bus. More information on schedule and tickets can be found here:

Bike & Ride

A multitude of excellently signposted bicycle routes will guide you safely to Münster. The European Bicycle Track R1 from Calais to St. Petersburg, the Route of 100 Castles, the Route of Peace, and many more…

By car Münster can be reached directly via the A1 and A43 highways. The trip from Frankfurt a. M., Hamburg or Amsterdam will take you approx. 3 hours, the trip from Berlin to Münster takes approx. 5 hours.

The parking guidance system takes car drivers to the free P+R facility at Albersloher Weg from the Münster-Süd motorway junction. The city bus routes 6 and 8 (subject to fare) then take you into the conference venue (10 min). If this car park is full, you can park your car a few hundred metres further on at the Cineplex car park (all-day parking ticket just EUR 4) and you can reach the conference venue by foot (4 min).

The parking guidance system also accompanies car drivers to the parking facilities in the centre and displays where and how many parking spaces are still currently empty. By the way, the number of empty parking spaces can also be seen using the free WBI app.

Long-distance and air travellers

There is a multitude of direct domestic and European connections at the international airport Münster-Osnabrück (FMO), offered by different carriers, e.g. Deutsche Lufthansa and partner airlines. You can fly to Münster from all over the world via Frankfurt or Munich Airport. From here, you can reach the city centre of Münster by bus or taxi in approx. 30 minutes. More information can be found here: Flughafen Münster-Osnabrück - FMO

Bus S50 and Bus R51 run during the day between the airport and the city, Bus D50 runs only in the early morning and late evening.
